For example, they are twice as likely to feed on people with Type O blood. They prefer to feed on the nutrient-rich blood of pregnant women. Avoid planning outdoor adventures at dawn and dusk, as mosquitos are most active during these times.

Limit standing water around your property. An inch or more of standing water, like in pots, fire pits, outdoor decorations, fountains, etc., is the most desired breeding ground for mosquitos.

Limit the use of heavy perfumes when going outdoors, as these are attractants to mosquitos.

Your summer shampoo and body lotion should be something unscented. Anything with a strong scent is going to attract more mosquitos.
