There are not many things in this world that are more annoying than the persistent whiny hum of mosquitoes - unless it’s the itch they leave behind when they bite. Everyone knows this sound and the uncanny way mosquitoes seem to be able to zero in on a target and then disappear just before being swatted.

With all of the news and information about the dangers of mosquito-borne illnesses, it’s hard to know what to do. This summer, it is more important than ever to avoid getting bitten and prevent mosquitoes from breeding in order to avoid mosquito-borne diseases from them like the West Nile virus, Zika virus, yellow fever, malaria, tularemia, Eastern equine encephalitis, and canine heartworm.

This time of year, as a parent, we struggle with a variety of things including what to do with our kids while we are at work, what camps should we send them to, and much more.
